Case Study: Translation Services

1 year and 11 months ago in Case Study

Peerwith’s Translation Services  can be requested if you need your research paper translated by a peer who understands your field of study. You may request this service in any language combination.

In this case study we look at a Translation Services request we received from Dr. Eyas, a researcher from Saudi Arabia.

The initial contact

Dr. Eyas wanted a book translated from Arabic into English. The book had 30 000 words.  For such a big project, the researcher found it easier to approach it in two separate requests.

Within just a few hours, Dr. Eyas received his first responses and connected with BA Essam, a Peerwith expert from the Egypt. BA Essam explained that for the budget the client had available for this project, USD 1000, the expert would provide:

  • Computational extraction of the keywords and unifying the terminology.
  • 6 000 translated words sent weekly to the client for feedback.
  • While establishing the client’s additional wishes for his project by asking specific questions, BA Essam also offered advice on how to boost the book’s citation.

The translation

After a regular document and feedback exchange between the two researchers throughout the month, BA Essam uploaded the final draft and even offered advice for the next step: “The next step is to submit the book to the publishers for peer-reviewing. I will do the submission on your behalf if you do not mind. Before we submit, I will give you options to choose from (several publishers). The submission is for free. There is nothing to worry about. Have a great day ahead!”

Dr. Eyas was delighted with such an extended service and agreed for the submission of his book for peer-review on his behalf.

Conclusion

This Translation service was invaluable for Dr. Eyas, as an experienced expert was able to not only translate his book from Arabic into English, but he also offered advice on what needed to be done in order to enhance the book’s quality, credibility and impact before it was sent to the publisher.

When reading this case study, it is important to know that the additional services BA Essam offered to the client are usually not included in the Translation Services.
