Uchechi Eziefula, who specialises in engineering, joined Peerwith recently as an Expert, offering his services to clients. He immediately started to excel in providing seamless customer service and delivering flawless work. This caught our attention, and we decided to get to know the expert more closely.
Uchechi, you are an accomplished engineer, as well as an academic. Could you tell us more about your background?
I am a civil engineer who specialises in structural engineering. I work as a lecturer and researcher in a higher education institution. I also offer consulting services in structural analysis and design of buildings and civil engineering structures.
What motivated you to start offering academic services? Why do you prefer to offer your services on Peerwith rather than offering them on a different platform?
My experience in peer review motivated me to offer academic services. Having reviewed several research papers submitted to leading international journal publishers, I noticed that manuscripts sometimes contain errors, gaps, or missing links. For example, an article written by a researcher who speaks English as a second or foreign language might contain several English-language mistakes. In addition to language issues, other concerns include submitting a paper to a journal with different aim and scope, poor organisation of the technical contents, etc. Although the technical aspects of an article can be promising, it is not uncommon to see manuscripts get rejected by a journal based on these reasons. I help researchers to achieve their aspirations in academic writing and publishing by providing research support services.
Peerwith offers opportunities for experts to provide services in various research areas. It is easy for an expert to register with Peerwith. Also, I like Peerwith’s transparent peer-to-peer model. The client and the expert have a direct connection with each other and can thus exchange feedback frequently. The client selects the expert that will offer service to the client and the expert bids for jobs based on the expert’s proficiency and client’s requests (for open requests). In the Peerwith platform, the client and the expert directly negotiate the transaction fees, which includes a service charge paid to Peerwith for offering the connection platform. In my opinion, this Peerwith service charge is fair. The client pays the fees to Peerwith which will not be released to the expert until the expert completes the work and the client flags the work as “accepted”. The expert can rate the client after submitting the work, and the client also has the option of rating the expert after accepting the job. Since I started offering my services on Peerwith, I have not had any issues related to payment of fees. I always receive the correct amount at the right time.
You have received the highest ratings from all the clients that gave you feedback. This says a lot about your professionalism, as well as about how client-friendly you are. What is the approach you implement when you work with clients?
I try to be professional when dealing with clients. Also, I aim to understand the individual needs of each client by building a rapport with the client. I ensure that I know what each client needs, and then advise the client on the approach we need to adopt in achieving the client’s goals. I seek to make each client’s work outstanding. In a word, my watchwords are professionalism, communication, excellence, respect, and working to deadlines.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I offer research services in editing, manuscript writing support, manuscript review, journal guidance, and manuscript submission. A client who needs my services should please submit a request service through my profile: https://peerwith.expert/uchechieziefula.
