Edresate: “I would like to take this opportunity to note that this month, October 2018, has been a great month for me in terms of the work I’ve managed to secure via Peerwith. It’s also been very good in terms of other work I take on but Peerwith will certainly represent my biggest source of income this month. Obviously, this is great! I started to take on work from Peerwith in July of this year, and have been impressed since the outset. I look forward to continuing in this vein through attracting new clients as well as repeat business from clients I have already worked with.
Importantly for me, I really like the essence of Peerwith. It allows researchers to directly connect with experts in a fair way. By fair I principally mean in terms of the platform costs levied against the service requests. Considering what you get from Peerwith in terms of access to clients and security, these fees are not only low, but also wholly justified.
I think there is a really strong ethical case for levelling the playing field by providing language support for English as a Second Language (ESL) academic authors. But there´s also a really strong ethical case for ensuring that ESL editors are paid their fair dues. That´s why I work in this domain and that´s why I am increasingly taking on more and more work from Peerwith. Also, on a personal note, I am British and currently freelancing / travelling around the EU whilst I still can, before Brexit makes that difficult if not impossible. As such, this type of work, which I can do anywhere with an internet connection, is perfect for me 😊”
