Tell us a bit about your background. How did you first get started with Peerwith and how did this evolve into your current role, Account Manager Spanish Market?
As a freelance Scientific Editor, I was always searching for new clients and new opportunities. One day I came across an article about Peerwith in Nature and found it interesting that – unlike what happens in other scientific editing companies – Peerwith encourages direct contact between the clients and the expert. This inspired me to sign up to the Peerwith platform, and it all started from there! I began to work with a range of clients from all over the world, especially with clients from South America who needed help in translating manuscripts from Spanish to English. Acting as the main expert for several of Peerwith´s large accounts in the Spanish market, I had to continually liaise with the corresponding Project Managers. With this experience, Ivo eventually approached me and asked me to become the official Account Manager Spanish Markets for Peerwith.
You also invested in Peerwith Crowdfunding, what inspired you?
I invested in Peerwith because I believe this company has a lot of potential. By working as an expert on the platform since the very beginning, I have witnessed first-hand, the type of growth that Peerwith has experienced. Every day, more and more members of the scientific and publishing community are using Peerwith as their prefered company. A recent emphasis to offer institutional solutions makes the outlook even more promising. With such a great team behind this idea, I truly believe Peerwith will soon dominate the entire market.
How is Peerwith approaching publishing challenges in a unique way?
By assigning Account Managers who are also active experts on the Peerwith platform, Peerwith is tackling publishing challenges in a unique way. When it comes to offering institutions the support they require, we need to provide not only high-quality scientific services but also local support to the institutions in their own language. Next on the list, I think are two new regions, Southern Europe and Eastern Europe.
What do you find, is/are the major benefit(s) of Peerwith Institutional Solutions?
One of the main benefits of Peerwith Institutional Solutions is the option of consolidated billing. Large institutions have different departments and many professors who need manuscript services. Consolidated billing is a fantastic way to speed up the client-expert connection and have the finished project returned as soon as possible; we all know how important it is to meet submission deadlines! Also, if you choose the pre-payment option, there are no additional cost. The recent launch of the Cockpit is an additional feature offered as part of our Institutional Solutions. The Cockpit is like a management console for the institutes, providing them with an overview of all their projects and giving them complete control over their publication budgets and planning.
